Meet Amy Blanks

Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. Attended the University of Texas at San Antonio and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology followed by completion of a Master’s of Science in Speech-Language Pathology at UT Health San Antonio with emphasis in the medical-field of practice. Following graduation Amy moved to Las Vegas and completed the Clinical Fellowship year in a pediatric outpatient setting specializing in communication disorders. Thanks to medical-emphasis in the SLP program, was able to make the transition into the adult acute-care setting into a major hospital system in downtown Las Vegas where Amy spent the next 3 years specializing in the diagnosis and management of swallowing disorders and cognitive-communication deficits in adults.

Having just started at Vail-Summit Orthopaedics & Neurosurgery, I appreciate the interdisciplinary approach that the team embraces in our practice. Collaboration with my fellow clinicians results in a specialized and thorough treatment plan for each patient’s unique needs. I am eager to get to know the members of the beautiful mountain community and have received an incredibly positive response to my role here as one of the few SLP’s in the region.
