Community
Vail-Summit Physical Therapy believes in building better communities, empowering the next generation of athletes, and ensuring every individual has equal access to care. That is why we give both money and resources to local initiatives such as Breck Epic, organizations like Summit Pride, and educational institutions such as Summit High School that share our passion for helping our mountain region thrive.
Seasonal Sports Agility Class
Winter sports don't offer the same opportunities as other activities for consistent practice. Over the years of treating skiers and snowboards, our team has found that the worst injuries tend to occur during the first few days back on the slopes. That's why Vail-Summit Physical Therapy offers seasonal Sports Agilities Training sessions to help locals build up strength and agility with rigorous classes: strength, agility, plyometrics, and return to sports training.
Community Sponsorships
Vail-Summit Physical Therapy supports community partnerships and local initiatives that are dedicated to improving our mountain towns and the people who call them home.
OUR ORGANIZATION CURRENTLY SPONSORS:
Summit County School District
Since 1994, VSPT has provided full-time athletic training services to Summit High School. This on-site ATC provides pre-season screenings for students participating in interscholastic athletics, medical coverage at high-impact sports games, develops lectures and programs on concussion prevention and management, first aid, CPR requirements and injury response protocols, maintains a training room, and teaches a Medical Preparation Program on campus.
Common Spirit, St. Anthony Summit Hospital
When St. Anthony Summit Hospital opened in 2005, VSPT partnered with the hospital to provide post-operative, inpatient care to orthopaedic surgery patients. Later, in 2016, VSPT expanded that partnerships in an effort to identify brain-trauma inpatients who had delayed or undiagnosed traumatic brain injuries, leading to a drop in delayed or undiagnosed TBIs from 13% to 2%. Today, VSPT continues the partnership with St. Anthony Summit Hospital, now Common Spirit, to streamline all inpatient care for physical, occupational, and speech therapy, delivering the highest standard of inpatient care in our mountain community.
