Teri Day: 25 Years of Supporting the GB Snowsport Team—One Halfpipe at a Time

For 25 years, Teri Day, PT and Director of Therapy at Vail-Summit Physical Therapy, has provided coverage to the British Freeride Team’s Park and Pipe athletes, bringing world-class care to some of the sport’s biggest stages. Though she isn’t full-time with the team, her presence on the hill at key competitions throughout the season has made a lasting difference—especially this year, during one of the most exciting seasons yet.

Among the many athletes Teri has supported, one name stands out this year: Zoe Atkin, the British-American freestyle skier who became the 2025 Halfpipe World Champion at the FIS Freestyle World Championships in St. Moritz Engadin, Switzerland.

A Long-Term Partnership Built on Trust

Teri first started working with Zoe when she was just 15 years old, helping her develop her physical readiness as she transitioned into the World Cup circuit. Over the years, Teri’s support has spanned Olympic preparation, X Games appearances, and countless stops on the international stage.

While Teri isn’t with the team every day, she plays a critical role in key events throughout the year, where she helps athletes like Zoe stay in peak condition and recover quickly between training sessions and competitions.

On the Ground for the Sport’s Biggest Moments

This past season, Teri provided coverage at several major competitions, including:

• Secret Garden Halfpipe World Cup (China)

• Copper Mountain Halfpipe World Cup (Colorado)

• X Games (Aspen)

• Calgary Halfpipe World Cup (Canada)

• World Championships (St. Mortiz, Switzerland)

At each stop, her focus is the same: keep athletes healthy, ready, and competing. From general maintenance and managing soreness to more specialized treatments like dry needling and myofascial, soft tissue and joint mobilization, Teri helps athletes bounce back quickly between training days and competition. And when something happens on the hill? She’s there to keep them in the game whenever safely possible.

Celebrating a Standout Season

This year was especially meaningful. Zoe didn’t just co-win the overall Crystal Globe for halfpipe—she capped her season with a world championship title. For Teri, who’s been alongside Zoe since her early years, it was a full-circle moment.

“To see Zoe stand on top of the podium, knowing the work she’s put in—it’s just incredibly rewarding,” says Teri. “Being able to support her, even in a part-time capacity, has been one of the highlights of my career.”

Zoe shared, "I'm so grateful for Teri and the support she's provided me over the years, it's truly helped me unlock a new level of performance and the confidence to really go for it. She has been irreplaceable, helping my body be ready to win world championships."
